ABOUT

Ariella Cohen Coleman’s dedication to fixing healthcare stems from her family’s battles with the insurance industry. Ariella’s father was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer when she was 13; he died when she was 17. During those years, Ariella’s mom fought tirelessly to ensure her dad’s care was covered as it was meant to be under their plan.  It was from this young age that Ariella recognized the brokenness of our healthcare system.

Ariella also lives with a complex constellation of health challenges about which she has spent countless hours fighting against insurance companies. Ariella has won every battle she has fought against the insurance industry, and she wants to empower others to do the same while these fights are still the necessary avenue toward covered care.

Being sick or loving someone who is sick is hard enough; being forced to convince a for-profit business that your or your loved one’s life is worth saving is inhumane. Ariella is dedicated to guiding people to advocate effectively for themselves to get the care they deserve, and to flipping our current healthcare industry on its head to prioritize patient health.

Ariella is an attorney, and lives with her magnificent husband in sunny Santa Barbara.
